"Emily Sokolow is a mixed media artist from New York living in LA with a background in tech and advertising. She uses art to help process reality, access deeper truths, and transform pain into beauty. Her work explores themes of reflection, contemplation, and hope. Emily lived in Tel Aviv for four pivotal years, where she discovered the power of art to bridge cultural and communication gaps. The work on display was inspired by the experience of visiting Israel and leaving — by chance — one day before October 7, 2023. The piece HOPE IS WORK was inspired by a Zoom in which Israeli and Palestinian peace activists engage in cross-cultural dialogue and nonviolent communication as a path toward a shared future. "
